An omamori is a Japanese good luck charm, believed to attract good fortune and shield against bad luck. These talismen are usually made of beautifully embroidered brocade fabric, although this one is meant to replicate the bingata fabrics of Okinawa, Japan, a tiny island that represents peace and happiness to many who have lived there. The kanji on the front is for "shiawase", which translates to "happy", "happiness", or "contentment" in Japanese.
